What happened to my kitchen sink Aerator?

I took off the aerator and cleaned it and i did it just like it was done in a how to video on pbs but when i put the Aerator back on the faucet and turn on the water the water just sprays everywhere, when i turn the water on very low its almost a normal stream but still sprays a little, when i turn the water on maximum it just sprays water all over the sink. Its like for some reason now there is way to much air coming through the faucet and its making the water go everywhere. How do i fix this? I took out the aerator because it was really dirty and i had lost pressure but now theres just way to much pressure. I can literally feel the air in the sink when i turn on the faucet, kind of like standing near a waterfall.
I put in the screen piece in which has the screen, a bunch of holes at the top and a white stick that goes up into the faucet and then i put the washer on and screwed it in, thats the only pieces that were on it, so i can’t be missing anything.

I have a single handle kitchen faucet with no water coming out…?

I have checked the water lines going in to the faucet and they have plenty of pressure. I have taken off the aerator and cleaned; turned the water on without it on and still nothing. I have disconnected the lines going into the faucet and blown air into the faucet to try to break free any build up in the line but this also had no affect (except making me a little dizzy).

With these "tests" done, I am thinking that there must be a problem inside the faucet handle i.e. the cartridge.

I took off the handle and under that is a plastic piece that turns about a total of 90 degrees (as much as the handle normally would); it also pivots up and down (like the handle as well). I imagine I need to get this piece out in order to get to the cartridge, washer, etc; this is where the real problem starts. This plastic piece does not simply pull up and out and the does not seem to have any type of pin or screw etc holding it in place. It does have "teeth" around it (imagine you are looking into a socket, the teeth are like that). I’m guessing that I need to find a tool to fit in there (if one exists) to unscrew that piece.

Just moved into the house so there is no owners manual available and I cannot seem to find any type of manufacturing label for the faucet. Any help, ideas, answers etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What could be causing low water pressure in my kitchen only?

I cleaned out the aerator, checked the valves – they are on all the way. I still have very low water pressure in the faucet in the kitchen. Any ideas what could be causing it?
It is one of those faucets where the spout comes out so you can hold it in your hand. I disconnected the spout and the water pressure is low coming from just the inside cord part. The valves are on all the way. Every few days I will have water pressure in the kitchen again, then it goes away.

The single lever faucet in our kitchen has lost pressure. How can I fix it?

Need help ASAP….We have a Delta Single Lever faucet in our kitchen that as of yesterday lost water pressure. It has an aerator built into our PUR filter which I removed to check if that was the problem. There was some sediment built up, but with the entire filter and aerator removed there is still no pressure. Every other line in the house, including the bathroom toilet and sink in the next room over function perfectly. Can anyone suggest where I can look next to possibly fix this problem?
Checked the valves under the sink….doesn’t seem to be a problem there.
As far as a cartridge is concerned, I am not quite sure there is one….when I removed the housing I found the metal ball beneath the cam and the support springs (which all seemed fine). I am in the middle of trying to run a thin plumber’s snake through each side (hot and cold) but it makes little sense that I should lose water pressure on both lines, right?
Okay….under last suggestion pulled up spout and found diverter…how do I know if it is stuck and if stuck how do I make it unstuck? It does look like there is a build up of sorts so should I use a cleansing agent (like CLR) to brush it up?
New development…
Checked diverter….found some strange black stuff (rocks? rubber?) blocking its movement. Removed the blockage. Went back and reassembled faucet by the letter…springs and all…turned water back to full open on both valves and used the top of the faucet ball to turn on water…water came out full blast and let it run for two minutes to be sure…reattached lever handle (had some trouble here) but turned water on again and the pressure went for about ten seconds before disappearing altogether…barely a dribble. Went back and checked for blockage at diverter again and none found. Followed steps back to reassemply and got pressure for ten seconds before it seemed as though lever (or something inside it/beneath it) came loose again and pressure left. I know I have tightened everything properly so where could the problem be? The lever AND the diverter maybe?

no water pressure in kitchen sink?

I have no water pressure in my kitchen sink (hot or cold). my bath room sink and bathtub (2nd floor) have normal pressure as dose my washing machine (1st floor). What could be the issue? I removed that aerator, and the issue seems to be that the water flow out of the faucet is very slow. I also checked the valves under neath the sink and the are turned on. Other background info, we were experiencing low water pressure on and off for about a month, now it is always low.

i just checked my dishwasher and the waterflow to that seems fine. I dont know about the ager of the pipes. We just replaced the sink drainage pipes (it was done professionally). Any other ideas?

Why does my Delta kitchen faucet spout leak between the end of the spout and the aerator?

The aerator is as tight as can be and I’ll even loosen it a bit, but it still leaks when the water is on. I’ve tried both metal and rubber or palstic type swivel aerators.

My water pressure is dying?!?

My water pressure was perfect a month ago. All of a sudden it just lost pressure. Over the course of the month, I have lost all water flowing through my kitchen sink and almost all my other faucets. My kitchen sink, with both levers turned completely open, only drips. My bathtub now, looks like my kitchen sink should. I have looked online and cleaned every aerator. None of these were solutions to the problem. WHAT HAPPENED?!? I’m clueless. I also drained my water heater. While there was sediment, after I finished, there seemed to be no difference.

Kitchen sink valve continually clogging?

We moved into a 40+ year old house and did some remodeling on our own. In the kitchen we installed a new countertop, sink and faucet. The faucet water pressure starts out OK and then dwindles to a trickle after some use. After a bunch of trial and error I figured out that the problem was in the valve of the faucet (forgive me if my terminology is off). It’s a 3-hole Moen faucet (one hole has the handle, one the faucet spout and the third is the sprayer).

Inside the faucet is a brass valve with three holes. One leads to the faucet, one connects to a hose for the sprayer and one is the inlet for the water from the handle. When I disconnect this valve, the water pressure from the inlet hose is very strong, so I know the problem is in the valve itself. I basically take the valve outside and spray it through with a garden hose sprayer. That seems to solve the problem as I then reassemble the faucet and water flows well. But, again, after some use (1-3 weeks?) it eventually slows to a trickle and I have to repeat the process.

I know that the underlying cause is our galvanized piping. We get a lot of the rusty granulated stuff in our aerators and I’m almost sure that is what is gumming up the valve.

OK, given all of that information, is there anything I can do to avoid taking the faucet apart every couple of weeks other than re-piping the whole house? Is there a better faucet/valve that would be more resistant to this clogging?

Any advice appreciated.

How to remove stuck fitted washer from inside of a gooseneck spray holder?

I was trying to clean out the debris my faucet’s aerator. I have an American Standard Fairbury Single Control Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet. Like an idiot, I twisted of the spray head from the hose without remembering to hold on to the fitted washer. The result was that the hose got pulled back into the holder and I lost the fitted washer deep inside the gooseneck holder. Now my erator is as clean as new, but I cannot connect the spray head back into the hose in order to use it normally. Please help me find a way to get the fitter back up (or down) as long as it can emerge back to the tip of the hose so I can connect it to the spray head. Thanks for your time.
