my kitchen faucet has lost lot of pressure all of a sudden. I did clean the aerator twice…no luck. And do not have a side spray. the faucet is the kind that you push a button to make it spray also. the problem is with both hot and cold water. incidentally this all happened when one of our pipes sprang a leak. the rubber washer deteriorated on an pipe supply line in the garage (where the water comes in from outside) and we had that repaired immediately but the problem with the faucet started at the same time and still persists. The pressure everywhere else is still the same (as before the leak). So what i can’t figure out is what is the relationship between the leak and the kitchen faucet only. And why is the faucet still messed up after the leak was repaired. We have checked all the valves to make sure they are open all the way. Showers upstairs have same pressure as before. Bathroom sink and toilet on same level as kitchen are still functioning as before too. This one’s a mystery!

You could have gotten air ,or even mud in your lines.Did you pull your kitchen faucet cartridges out? All the way out? Could be mud or metal little particles stuck in the pipes .That is just my guess, I am not a plumber although I have to act like I am sometimes. I do our plumbing up to a certain point. If it goes behind a wall,or if a spider is close , that is where I make him call a regular plumber. We don’t call them very often.
have you tried turning the feed off just to your kitchen and opening the faucets and then reopen feed to remove possibly trapped air from main leak!!! BIG-G,,,
You have a piece of that deteriorated rubber clogging the faucet inlet. Not hard to do with that type of operation. You’ll have to take the faucet out, and apart, to clean trash from inside the body.
It sounds like your faucet is a divert-er type where the water is mixed by a single valve. It is possible a foreign object from the problem you had with the water supply line traveled to the valve & got stuck in the valve body and is restricting the flow. Is the kit. sink close to where the water comes into the house?
maybe if they soft soldered when they fixed the pipe they did a crappy job and the solder got in the pipe or something got in the pipe when they were repairing it
Try This. Remove the faucet from the flex hose then remove the aerator. Get out the garden hose and spray into the aerator end. Capture the water as it comes out so you can see the material that was blocking it. Air may also work if you have a compressor, but look for the debris so you get a sense of accomplishment. Other wise maybe a new faucet is in order. Taking it apart??? Like we live in an era where manufacturers intend for their products to be repaired. Easier said then done.
